July 25, 2010 - FAIRBANKS – Fire resumed the first game of the five game series against the Miners in the top of the 10th inning in an 8-8 tie. The Miners took the game in a 10-8 fashion in a very wild game, which has been another part of a wild series. The loss unfortunately goes to Chris Turner in his one inning of work, as the Fire fall to 11-27 in the ABL. The win goes to Miners reliever Andy Mee as the Miners bring their record to 25-12 in the ABL.
The Miners broke the 8-8 tie in the top of the 10th inning with two runs. Reagan Moczygemba started off the inning with a leadoff single. He then came around to score on a two out RBI double off the bat of Ryan Kaup. Matt Wessinger then lined a singe into center field to bring in Kaup, but Wessinger was cut down at second base trying to advance an extra base. The two runs gave the Miners a 10-8 advantage.
The Fire needed two to tie, and three to win in the bottom half of the 10th inning, but could not string together a rally. The Fire and Miners will be right back at it again with game four of the five game series with an approximate 2 PM start.
